Matka silk yarn is a beautiful textured, ethically produced silk fibre. Crafted from the outer cocoon of the silkworm after the moth has naturally emerged. The fibres are spun rather than reeled, resulting in a yarn with a soft, nubbly texture and a matte, organic finish.
Matka silk is soft, light and breathable. Its subtle slubs and irregularities are part of its charm, with a soft natural drape, that brings an earth quality depth and character to every handmade piece.
