Manos Fino's Miniskeins

Fino mini skeins are a set of 5 mini skeins, 20 grams each. The beautiful colour combinations are specially designed for colour work projects.

Composition: 70% Merino wool, 30% Tussah Silk

Yarn weight: 4ply / Fingering

Each skein: approx 0.7oz/ 20g - 90 yds/ 98m per mini skein

Needle: 3 – 3.5mm/ US 3 - 5

Tension/Gauge: 24-28 stitches per 10cm

Care instructions: Gentle hand wash in cool water. Dry Flat.

About:

Manos del Uruguay was founded out of the need to improve the quality of life for rural women in Uruguay. To give Uruguay's rural women jobs, that would mean, not just an income, but also an opportunity to personally develop and gain independence. Keeping their roots and traditions close to their community and families.

All of their yarns are hand dyed. 
The artisans use heated by wood kettles for small batch dying, which produces wonderful colours. Their yarns colours are bright and wild, full of nuances and variations. No two skeins are the same, each one is unique, a testimony of a particular moment.

They keep the traditional hand spinning skills alive, which allows them to create unique, beautiful yarns.

Every yarn is tagged with the artisan signature and the name of the village where the cooperative is located. A beautiful reminder there is a woman and a story behind the yarn.

Manos del Uruguay has a social aim and are a Non for profit organization. 
An organization of 12 cooperatives, each one is a workshop located in a small village of Uruguay’s countryside.

Manos del Uruguay is also a member of the WFTO, World Fair Trade Organization since 2009.
