Tussah silk is collected from the wild after the moths have emerged, the cocoons are cleaned, carded, and spun into a yarn with a subtle matte sheen and gentle irregularities that reflect its untamed origin. Tussah silk is known for being stronger and more textured than cultivated mulberry silk, offering a wonderfully organic feel.

Durable, breathable, and softly lustrous, tussah silk drapes beautifully and takes dye exceptionally well. It blends well with plant fibres and is ideal for weaving, knitting, crochet, slow stitching, and mixed-media fibre art.

These are unspun fibres, varying in lengths, with the shortest approx 12cm.
Available as twisted hanks, rolled balls or noil fibres. If you have a preference on how you'd like these fibres, please leave a note in your order and we'll be in touch with any queries.
